About Brass HQ
Built by a journalist. Run like a consultancy.
Brass HQ started as a creative agency — and at the core, still is one. What sets it apart is 15+ years of media relationships that took a career to build, now placed at the service of organizations doing work that matters.
Founder & President
Chizobam Ofoegbu
A journalist's instinct. A strategist's discipline. A founder's commitment to helping organisations earn trust, influence decisions and accelerate results.
Fifteen years ago, Chizobam Ofoegbu began her career inside the newsroom at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), learning how stories are evaluated, why some narratives shape public opinion while others disappear, and what makes information worthy of attention.
That newsroom discipline became the foundation for a career spanning public relations, strategic communications, development communications, stakeholder engagement, business strategy, consumer psychology and AI-powered communications.
Today, she is the Founder and President of Brass HQ — a strategic communications and marketing agency that helps organisations close the gap between ambition and achievement.
Whether an organisation is launching a new initiative, repositioning its brand, engaging stakeholders, attracting investment, strengthening public trust, positioning its leadership or shaping industry conversations, Brass HQ designs communications systems that make those outcomes easier to achieve.
For Chizobam, communications has never been about publicity for publicity's sake.
It is about helping organisations earn credibility, influence decisions, build meaningful relationships and create measurable business, institutional and social value.
Her experience on both sides of the media ecosystem — as a broadcast journalist and later as a communications strategist — allows Brass HQ to approach every engagement from two perspectives simultaneously: understanding what makes a story genuinely newsworthy while ensuring that every communication effort serves a larger organisational objective.
That philosophy has enabled Brass HQ to support corporate organisations, foundations, government institutions, multilateral agencies, development organisations and high-growth businesses across Nigeria and Africa with strategic communications, thought leadership design, executive positioning, public relations, experiential marketing, media engagement and brand positioning.
It is also why organisations such as the Mastercard Foundation continue to work with Brass HQ as an ongoing editorial placement partner — trust built not only on media access, but on strategic judgement, editorial integrity and consistent delivery.
Headquartered in Lagos and working across Nigeria and the African media landscape, Brass HQ operates with a lean team of 5–7 specialists built to move with the speed of a newsroom while thinking with the discipline of a strategic advisory firm.
15+ Years, One Throughline
Six disciplines. One communications practice.
Most consultancies bring one lens to a brief. Brass HQ brings the full spectrum of expertise required to help organisations build trust, strengthen credibility and achieve meaningful outcomes through communications.
Broadcast Journalism
Years inside the newsroom at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), developing first-hand editorial judgement, understanding what makes a story newsworthy, what earns credibility and what captures public attention.
Public Relations
Building enduring relationships across the media landscape and translating those relationships into stronger coverage, faster turnaround times and more cost-efficient media opportunities for clients.
Development Communications
Helping organisations communicate programmes, partnerships and impact in ways that resonate with funders, policymakers, partners, communities and the people they serve.
Stakeholder Engagement
Designing communication strategies that strengthen relationships with everyone who shapes an organisation's success — from regulators and investors to employees, partners, communities and the media.
Business Strategy
Ensuring every communication recommendation supports a broader commercial, institutional or organisational objective, because communications should accelerate results — not simply generate attention.
Consumer Psychology & AI-Powered Communications
Combining behavioural insight with AI-enabled systems to understand how people build trust, make decisions and respond to information — helping organisations communicate more intelligently, move faster and scale without sacrificing human judgement.
Our Philosophy
Visibility is the vehicle, not the destination.
Communications should build credibility, strengthen stakeholder confidence, influence policy conversations, attract strategic partnerships and demonstrate measurable impact — not just generate visibility for its own sake.

Personal Branding
The Safe Influence Framework
When we build a personal brand for a founder or executive — under Thought Leadership Design — we run it through the Safe Influence Framework: we break the process into clear steps, build it entirely around who you are, and bring the production team behind you, so building your name into an asset never feels intimidating.
